The Fast of Esther, March 13, commemorates the steadfast bravery and leadership of Queen Esther, whose advocacy saved the Jews of Persia from certain death. This year, the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) and other Jewish women will be fasting on that day to speak up for the immigrant women and families in their communities who suffer because of a broken immigration system that divides families and keeps many of our undocumented neighbors fearfully living in the shadows. We have the power to stand united and use the Fast of Esther to demonstrate our resolve to ensure immigration reform remains a top priority in the House of Representatives. Pledge to fast on March 13 to send the message to Congress and your community: the time for immigration reform that meets the needs of women, children, and families is now.
